The City of Puxico is needing to be in compliance with Missouri Department of Natural Resource's new regulations.  In order for the City to comply, we must upgrade our facility.  For additional information, click here.  To see how the question is going to be worded on the ballot, click here.

Henson Trash, the City’s contracted trash service, has begun charging for picking up extra trash beyond what is placed in the 96 gallon trash can that the company supplies.  This trash is usually placed either outside of or on top of the trash can.    If a residence is charged for additional trash, this cost will be added to the resident’s trash bill.  This charge will appear as an additional line on the monthly water/sewer/trash bill.  For additional information, click here.

Also, the new addition to our Library was completed in August 2015!  If you have not had an opportunity to check it out, please do so . . . it is an incredible addition to the community.

Puxico is located near the "bootheel" of Missouri and is a community of about 900 residents. The town is a combination of life-long residents and newcomers, business owners and farmers, retirees and young people. It is a community filled with history and pride that welcomes new residents, new ideas and new ways of doing things.

We certainly believe that Puxico is one of the most friendly and charming rural communities in Missouri. We take pride in our excellent school, healthy business environment, and attractive neighborhoods and parks.  Our town is a great place to live, work, and visit.  Puxico is situated on Highway 51 and halfway between St. Louis and Memphis.

Farming is the major industry in the area. The land around Puxico is some of the most productive in the country for growing soybeans, corn, rice, and other crops. The town is surrounded by thousands of acres of prime farm land, but the area is also filled with excellent hunting and fishing areas which allows for awesome recreational experiences.

In Puxico, we have the best of both worlds – the serenity of small town living combined with thriving small businesses.  We do not want to forget to mention of our superior school system.  Puxico R-8 School District is A+ Certified that is filled with Indian Pride!

The City Hall office, located at 281 East Owen Avenue, is open from Monday- Friday: 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM & 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM. You can contact the City by telephone: (573) 222-3162.
