City of Puxico Closes all Public Facilities

Today, in accordance with recommendations from the state and federal government concerning the COVID-19 virus, the City of Puxico will be closing all public facilities following the close of business Friday, March 20,2020 until Monday, April 6, 2020.  At that time, the City will review and determine if any further action needs to be taken.

These facilities include the lobby space at  Puxico City Hall, the Public Library, the museum, and the police and fire departments.  The City parks will be closed to group activities but may be used on an individual basis.

Utility (water, sewer, trash) billing will continue to send bills and receive payments.  Customers are encouraged to use the drop box (located beside the city hall front door), pay online or mail payment to City Hall, P.O. Box 441, Puxico.  Debit/credit payments may be done through the City website, www.puxicomo.us, or by phone, 573-222-3162.  City staff will continue to report to work as scheduled.

The City library will be closed but the book deposit drop box may be used to return books.

Municipal water service disconnects have been suspended until further notice.  Any delinquent account will still accrue any late fees, charges and interest.

The public may call the City, 573-222-3162,  with any concerns or questions.

It's important as a community that we take care of ourselves, each other and any others that may be  affected by the pandemic.  Please use common sense and be respectful of others in all situations.  As this pandemic continues to evolve we hope everyone stays healthy and safe.

Rick McLean, Mayor
