Street Repair/Paving Work begins August 17

The City of Puxico received a Rural Development grant in the amount of $300,00 in order to do street repair/paving. The City’s matching portion is $100,891, making the total expenditure on this project $400,891.

Robertson Inc. Bridge and Grading Division of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, won the bid contract for the project. Work on the streets will begin on Tuesday, August 17, and should be completed by the end of August.

The following streets are on the list to be repaired/paved:

  • Bean Avenue from Harty Street to Cemetery Road
  • Cemetery Road from Bean Avenue to Richardson Avenue
  • Zelma Drive
  • W. Howard Drive
  • Turnbaugh Street from W. Howard Drive to Zelma Drive
  • Intersection of Owen Avenue and S. Hickman Street
  • E. Harbin Avenue from N. Hickman St. to Buena Vista
  • W. Harbin Avenue from Highway 51 to West End Road

Robertson Inc. has said that it would be willing to do driveways and other paving projects while they are in the area. The property owner would, of course, pay the cost of doing the paving. The property owner may call City Hall (573-222-3162) to be put on the paving list. If the property owner would like to have a cost estimate before the work is done, please let City Hall know
